Sorry, i must be lame and predicatble..'cos the thought of two weeks of complete alcohol abstinence seems a little dull and laboured to me. Iknow alcohol isn't everything but surely being on holiday is the perfect opportunity to experience the pleasures of fine wines and such. No..not for me

No. If it's a ski holiday I like to go to the bar after for a drink with my friends. If it's the tropics I like to sit by the pool and have one of those drinks with an umbrella. Also, a glass of wine is really nice with dinner in either place. Life is too short to give up the simple pleasures. After working and taxes, it's all I have left.

yeah for sure. Slightly different scenario but I am going on holiday next week and my girlfriend can't drink due to medication, doesn't mean it won't be a blast though. I can get wasted at home, why would I go on holiday to do the same?

If it was to a place I really wanted to see I would, but only for a week at the most. I don't NEED to drink but vacations to me are all about experiencing great food and wine from new places.
Changed my mind, a week is too long 4 days.

No. Don't get me wrong, I don't need a drink to have a good time but it sure helps! Part of a holiday is remembering the drunken nights, like when you snogged Pablo in Ibiza (I didn't by the way).

There is no where you can't get alcohol, if you try hard enough. I just got back from Morocco, fully Muslim country where you can't buy any outside of international or chic hotels.

My advice, pick up a couple of bottles duty free on your way out, just buy your own mixers as you go :)

It would be my preference to have a drink if I wanted one but I wouldn't let the lack of booze wouldn't stop me from seeing a destination.

if you need alcohol to have fun then the destination wasnt worth going to in the first place

I most certainly would, I don't bother drinking when on holiday in places where you are allowed to drink so it wouldn't affect me at all.
