I met someone online, and I've checked our past IM ... sometimes he is born at different year, sometimes another year but not too far apart. I've also found out from other sites, he'd listed his age to be older. How can I know the truth ?

You don't. Online allows people to hide behind a computer. For all you know, a man is a woman, a woman is a man, an adult is a child, a child is an adult, a nice person is a rapist, a sweet guy is a serial killer.
Get off the computer and out into the real world.

Careful, there are lots of freaks and dishonest people out there. They lie about their age mainly because that's the age they feel you like (as to getting to know you better.) If they are older or younger than what you desire, you may turn away from them. Just be straight up and ask how old are they, and use common sense when clues are given to you (like past IM.)
The only sure way to know a persons age is solid prove (i.e. valid drivers license, birth certificate..etc) Good Luck and be careful.

u don't need to know the truth, probably he has forgotten his real date of birth. His name too can be fake considering its online, I wonder what is true in his profile. Don't get too involved, lies aren't a good start for a relationship.

you probobly will never know the truth..unless you realy friendly and talk to a guy for a long time..and just keep asking quest.that might tell u something about there age..or asked him in few months about his age again and see what he says
