No he does not need to know the time or the date. There was a joke I heard about this
A man asked God how much a million dollars was to him he said a penny. Then he asked God how long a million years was to him he said a second. Then he said God give me a penny and God replied in a second.

God's time and ours are not the same. Time is not relevant to God.
