It would really depend on what he wanted me to change. If it is something that i was not willing to change and he could not live with it then yes we would be through. a relationship is all about compromise. I'm sure there are things my guy would like me to change, but there are also things i would like him to change. And also never go into a relationship hoping that the other person will change, it won't happen. hey good luck, hope all turns out ok for you!

Questions related to relationships are so hard to answer as they all depend on the two people involved really. I guess if you have an understanding of what rights you have in a relationship & if you are willing to stand up to them, then you will be able to conclude your own answers. I find that the best people to answer these questions from an outsiders point of view would be friends & family who know both people well enough to give good advise.

Well theres my advise to you. Hope you trust in yourself to make mature decisions regarding love.

Good luck.

Paula, STOP RIGHT HERE.

If your mate wants to change something about you. Then he DOES NOT love you for you.

Now if you wanted to change something about yourself. And he agree with you. Then that would be slightly different. He should support you in how you feel. However he should say there is no need for that. Because I (he) loves you for you, and the way you are.

Hmmm, if my mate didn't like that about me, then we probably wouldn't be together. Is it something that was there when you met???? If so, they why did you stay together to begin with. Personally, I would have to say NO. I was that way when you met me, if you didn't like it, you should have left then.
I was a smoker when I met my husband. He was not, I did try not to smoke in doors, but I never stopped. It was not one of my traits that he liked best, but he certainly would never have asked me to quit. I believe we can be courtious to one another, but never ask to change who we are. Having a child on the other had has made me quit smoking!

If its something like he wants you to change your hair-colour, lose weight, have breast enlargement or any other superfiecial crap then don't bother. The guys obviously a d**k.

If he wants you to stop doing something thats bad for you, like taking drugs or smoking or drinking excessively or seeing a guy thats no good - then he's trying to help you and is taking drastic steps to do so. He must care a great deal - maybe you should listen to him.

Depends on what he wanted to be changed. Certain concessions and compromises can be made in a relationship but there are limits to the things one can change about oneself.

Why does everyone think a relationship has to end on a disagreement. You can change what ever it is to please your partner but to keep everything on an even keel, get somthing in return! Like more time with you and your friends, a change in his bad habits etc.

If my boyfriend wanted to change something about me, I'd take out the list of the things I wanted him to change too. Hey, If i'm going to do it he better do it too.

it depends.. on how much they mean to you.. are they telling you coz they're worried about you? is it coz they genuinely care about you and your future in regards to this habit? think about it.. if it is a yes you're sayin, then course i would.. coz it shows they're true friends...!!!

i would change if they meant things like..... arrogance, jealousy, greed, anger management problems... etc!!

if they said drop out of school/uni/job, then obviously not!!!

bottom line: would it make you a better person? if yes, then do it and thank god that u have a friend like that

Really depends on what it is. Changing something that makes me... well... me... would be out of the question. Changing my underwear... yeah I would do that.
