n-e-way, u can just spell it owt like it sowndz, tons o ppl do it n if u dont u can get ur answer pushed rite 2 da bk of da pg n not get noticed n stuf coz u spent 2 long lukin ut gramma n spellin n stuf


Well, duh! It's easier.

Anyway, you can just spell it out like it sounds. Lots of people do it and if you don't you can get your answer pushed right to the back of the page and not get noticed. All because you spent too long correcting grammar and spelling.

This is a question I ask every day! Nothing seems to grate quite like it! Why do people do it? A mixture of reasons, I reckon. In fact, the plethora of reasons, social, cultural and educational, have given me a great topic for my dissertation and Yahoo answers has provided me with uncountable examples of 'text speak' in every usage! (All quoted with the required acknowledgements of course!).

I don't know but its going a bit too far when nowadays some children have been known to complete their English GCSEs using text talk.

shortcuts are easier. But I'm always getting after my daughter for doing that. It gets pretty annoying. And then when it's time to write a paper for school or something she might "forget" and use those same shotcuts and that can cause unnecessary mistakes
