Can 50 million insurance companies' actuaries be wrong,
or the recent brain imaging research showing the relative immaturity of the 12 -25 year old's pre-frontal cortex?
Would you bite if laws were also changed so that:
---recruiting for military doesn't start til you're 30?
---if your feet can reach the gas pedal, you can drive around your daddy's ranch?
--DECENT PUBLIC TRANSIT FOR *EVERYONE*

This has been a long ongoing question. Starting with military, you are old enough to fight and die at 18, but not old enough to drink, that seems wrong to me.
As far as driving goes, I ran a police impound yard for years. Most fatalities were young adults under 25. Driving is a big responsibility and is not taken seriously enough by some younger drivers. Especially motorcycles.
As far as feet not reaching the pedals, midgets drive with special aparatus, as do amputees, you can not discriminate due to size.
And addressing driving questions to the young can be reversed for the elderly. I have released impounded cars to people that are febile, senile and can not see the paperwork in front of them that they needed to sign. Also , have an uncle that is on so much medication that says " do not operate machinery or drive" that he is legally intoxicated when doing so. There should be a clamp down on this.

No,maximum anybody is out of highschool by making use of the age of 18 and not all pass directly to college yet get jobs. In rural and a few suburban components, there is no public transportation so attending to artwork may well be next to impossible. I do think of raising the minimum age to 18 may well be benefical because of the fact sixteen and 17 years olds many times lack the adulthood to deal with this sort of great duty. by making use of 18, maximum folk have started to look to the destiny and thier own mortality and act in a greater grownup way.

This would be...Stupid..after high school is college or getting a job..how could these things be accomplished if you couldn't drive till 25. I also think since 18 is the legal age to fight for this stupid country, the legal age for everything should be 18.

About the driving, that would screw up everything. It would almost be impossible to go to college until your 25, you couldn't have a job unless you can walk to it, and it would be difficult to move out of your parents' house. and to the guy who said it wouldn't affect him, if most people couldn't work until 25, who do you think will get the crap jobs that pays minimum wage? people 25-30 year olds will.

that is a debate that I have bee wondering as well. yet I am 28 driving since i was 16 and haven't had an accident, but the other day a teenager almost sideswiped me. I think drivers have a lot more distractions these days.

21, maybe. And military recruitment sure as hell shouldn't begin at 17. This kid can't even buy a beer and he's supposed to know what it means to fight a war?
Most age-related laws are arbitrary anyway... in NJ you can legally adopt children before you can buy beer.

If they do raise the driving age to 25 it would not affect me because I already have my license.
