God's love for us was compared to that of a father for his children.
Also, Jesus had a mother- Mary. (Who is "our mother" as well.) To keep things simple for us humans to understand, he described God as "the Father" so as not to cause any confusion. Humans think in bi-gender terms: male and female. It's very difficult for us to understand the concept of something with no gender.
And, of course, the Bible's authors were primarily men- I imagine they had something to do with it.

Spirituality is seeking to balance the masculine and feminine sides of ourselves in to every day life. Religion is male dominated hence the father figure. It used to be female dominated but men felt threatened and took over. Bad news guys. Us men are the ones with the broken Chromosones thats why we're called male. The Clue is in the spelling. LAME, MALE. or the females. EFLAME< FEMALE. Religion used to be female dominated as far as I can recall so it was mother Goddes. I done my research long before the DaVinci code came out and it only confirmed what I'd already known. The Greeks worshipped Gods and Goddessess. The American Indians worship Father sky Mother earth, the wind and the sun etc. There should always be balance. Christian religions don't have balance. How often is it said in the bible that God is love. Many times. If we're made in Gods image then what about your pet dog your cat or rabbits. What image are they made in. Well I'll tell you the answer, We're all made in Gods image of LOVE. From the annoying fly to the magnificent whale God is neither male nor female but an all encompassing energy source capable of creating many great miracles if only we ask and learn to tap into the universal energy called love. The more love you give then the more you are given to give. This is a miracle in itself. Jesus Christ is a propaganda name, the name given to an hallucinogenic mushroom. The man did exist and new details are emerging about him all the time ie in the dead sea scrolls and other records kept of him at that time. His real name I know, other facts I know but I choose not to mention these other facts for fear of upsetting you as I was upset to know I had lived and been taught a lie. I hope this sufficiently answers your question. With love and respect. McHaggis

The general beleif from all times even before jesus was born was that the creator of the world is god and since jesus proclaimed that god is his father he wanted us to pray to his father thats why he taught us the "our father" and since we call his father our father it implies jesus as not our father but our brother and next time you post a question like this or use words like this confirm if the god you pray to is a male and dont worry go to the extent of questioning your religious scholastics about it

God is made up of 3 different people...Father, Son and Holy Spirit...If you don't believe in Jesus' power, you don't believe in God automatically...disrespect the power of the Holy Spirit, you disrespect the power of God...
He taught to Praise our God because he's the only one that can bring us to the gates of Heaven and if we separate him from our life, we separate from him completely or also known as "Eternal Damnation" which means you'll go to Hell...
Why ask a STUPID question, "does God have a pen*s?"...we won't know, do you want to know (you're disgusting!)...
God put a soul in Mary's body and called him his "Son" because he is the only one that can create miracles...Jesus never fathered anyone, there is no Descendant of Jesus! anyone who claims they are a descendant, they have the wrong meaning of "Father"...Since Jesus is also God and Man, if he marries...he'll no longer be God but just Man...he was sent here to preach to us the good words of his Father and we must follow his words because bringing good is always better than crime!

While christianity teaches we were created "in God's image" (therefore implying that God looks just like a person), Islam teaches:
"There is nothing like unto Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer." (v.42:11)
and therefore, we do not look like the Creator.... any more than a car looks like us after we've "created" it.
Jesus taught as all the prophets before him did - to pray to God, and God only, and stop praying to idols.

God has no form. You can not see God but you can feel the prescience of God. When God communicates with man he does it through a Angle

Believe it or not God still loves you even though you ask stupid questions.
You should be ashamed and most of all you need to pray for forgiveness.
