Because he feels at home with you...
We once heard an adoption parent tell about their adopted girl who was very clean in eating etc in the beginning. That changed when the girl felt more at ease.
So: be happy that the kid can be himself with you, and wait for this particular problem to solve by itself. (Otherwise: do all the things the other answers tell you to do.)

Children do not like to be embarrassed and wetting himself at school would do just that. You can't embarrass your child at your home that's mean, but you can enforce potty times and praise him when he does good. Start making him go every 30 minutes but go with him. Make him stay in the bathroom for a few minutes each time. One of these times he will go and when he does make a BIG deal about it and how proud of him you are. They like when you are proud of them and will want to repeat that.

put him on the potty, just like they do at day care. reminding a child is not enough because they get caught up in what they are doing, then when they need to go potty it is too late. pay attention to how long after drinking something your child can no longer hold it, and put him on the potty before he has an accident.

Ask the pre-school what times during the day does he go potty and just enforce the times at home keep it consistant so he can be fuuly trained.

i believe that that is a sign that your child is well adjusted enough to control himself in public settings and yet be comfortable enough at home to still make mistakes, potty training can be a long, hard process, at least it isn't the other way around.

sounds like hes taking advantage of you, when he pees make him sit in it awhile he will learn that he doesn't like it and that you are not going to take it and he should stop,if he did this this all the time i would say there is a problem, but hes playing with you hes to old to be doing this

maybe you should tell the preschool this problem and see what they are doing so different or how they get him to go...or maybe your giving him too much to drink at home and preschool is a lil more structured..

Parents of today don't have any control over their children, and their children do not respect them. The children know that they, the children, are in charge. That is the bottom line.
