Absolutely love is a sacrifice. You can not only think of yourself anymore. As examples: you and your "mate" plan on going to a big party. He/She becomes ill, and although you really wanted to go, you will stay home to be with them. When you have children the sacrifice becomes more frequent. Your child may have a school function, become ill, you can't find a sitter and you have to put whatever plans you had on hold. Love is the ultimate sacrafice. Is is also a big responsibility.

In order to gain anything, you first have to sacrifice something. In this case, you would have to sacrifice your time and freedom etc in order for love to happen. but if you're with a girl that you really like, those sacrifices are insignificant.

simple version... yes
long version... 2 people in love doesnt mean perfection, those 2 people will continue to be 2 different people forever, so that inevitably leads to some differences in likes and dislikes, do's and do not's, but if those 2 people are truely in love then such a word as sacrifice should not be used, a better term would be compromise... u scratch i scratch, ect.

yes, love is sacrifice, the altimate sacrifice.
u sacrifice ur wants most often to please the ones u love, to make them happy.

Remember u can't receive anything with closed hands. u have to open it, let go of what's in it, only then can u receive. Applicable with love too.
