I laminated charts and notes and put them all over my house. Example: on top of the dining room table so I could review while eating. On the bathroom walls, cause I'd sit there everyday. On my coffee table. I also kept notes in the magazine rack in my bathroom. Always carry notebooks or a textbook with you wherever you go and use them to fill the time you might otherwise waste while waiting, sitting around, etc.

Passing up on weekend keggers. Letting dating take a back seat. Using acronyms. Joining study groups. Really putting studies first, and making my school work my primary goal.

Good luck!!!

I just finished dental hygiene school this June, so I can kinda relate to what you are experiencing. You see the light at the end of the tunnel and you just want it done and overwith! :)

I have two young kids, so I had some extra challenges there. I am very thankful that my parents live within 2 miles of my house and they would come by to take them for a couple hours here or there when I had projects and major papers due.

Also, studying with other classmates and laughing with them helped out a lot, especially when it came time for boards!

My study group - a crazy bunch of guys who scattered pornography through our aggregated medical notes and swore to make me so stressed that I'd take up smoking before the year was through (they never came good on that, though I did retch watching videos with them).

We memorize the info if we are not able to assimilate it well into our network of knowledge. You do best to get on the wards and see the patients and start using the knowledge - the clinical skills - the esoteric statistics. Once you have to start explaining stuff to patients or to decide what test is best to see if they have such and such a disease, you start learning stuff for real.

You do best to put it into practice. If you aren't there yet, then memorize it.
