How this breaks down and gives your body 2 days of rest is you need to figure out a schedule where you can lift weights, only to tone up and burn fat, meaning like 15-25 reps per set, maybe 3-4 sets per exercise, including all body parts. Make sure you do a 5 minute warm up of stretching or cardio. Then, after your weight training exercises, you then do your 30-45 mins of cardio. Do that 5 days 3 days a week, meaning weights and cardio, 2 days full cardio (60 mins) and 2 days of rest, which will give you a week's worth of a routine. I am a personal trainer so I have all my clients do this routine and it works for them, thats why I am still in business. Hope you decide to do this too.
