Many Christians are selective. If you can't believe the whole package, then none is truth in my opinion.

Because they want to live as they choose, and if they pick certain verses, they say that is proof that they are right. It helps to justify their self-righteous behaviour. They often ignore the Old Testament if something pertains to them (except when they want to use it against someone else).
Leviticus is often quoted as a reference against gays. But yet the same people think nothing of eating shellfish (which is an abomination, according to Leviticus), for example. How many of them pay any attention to the sin of gluttony? Ask Jerry Falwell or John Hagee when the last time was that they listened to the Holy Ghost talk to them about that sin, and see what kind of an excuse you get.

They are easily led sheep. They take it as a plus to not think, to accept everything their preachers tell them, unquestioningly, so when the preachers tell them they can eat pork and menstruating women don't need to be locked outside the gates of the city any more, because Jesus completed the OT Law, but homosexuals still need to be persecuted, why, they accept that just as easily as if the preacher told em 2 + 2 = 5. And here we are well in to the 21st century and they still deny Evolution. Sheep, indeed.

This is not only rellated to Christians..it's within all religions.
For example, if Jews were to practice ALL the commands of the old testament, there would be no time for resting..and If Muslims were to obey all the commands in the Quran, they will be confused,,,as so many Muslims are confused today.
As I stated here before, we need to learn to separate religion from tradition within the Quran, Old Testament and New Testament.

not all , Paul told Timothy that he knew the holy scriptures from a child so that little verse would tell WHAT THE HOLY SCRIPTURES WERE.too Paul . it was not the new testament. the new testament at that time was in different cities that Paul and other disciples wrote letters too . they where not together as yet to form a new testament. BUT THE HOLY SCRIPTURES WERE. FROM TIMOTHY'S CHILDHOOD. DOES THAT TELL ANYBODY WHAT THE HOLY SCRIPTURES ARE? HINT ,THERE IN FRONT OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.

Because the Old Testament sacrificial and ceremonial laws were foreshadows of the Christ to come, that's why.
"And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Colossians 2:13-17
Is the above passage clear enough for you or do you need the other passages that talk about how Jesus' sacrifice only needed to be offered once or about how circumcision was a picture of the "circumcision of the heart" and things like that?

They bring attention to homosexulaity and stuff as to take attention away from the rapeing, and stealing hey do in the Church!

Because the Bible is open for interpretation, and parts of it are relevant for today's society, and others aren't. For example, Jesus' saying "whoever is without sin may cast the first stone" can't be taken literally, because stoning is not a form of execution anymore. However, the passage can be interpreted to mean that we have no right to judge the sin of others being sinners ourselves. Another example is that the Bible literally says that "A man shall not lay with a woman before marriage." Does that mean that you can't cuddle with your boyfriend or girlfriend? No, it basically means that you can't have sex with them. It's all about thinking critically about what the Bible says.
P.S. It's Babble, not babel.

I do not reject the Old Testament; I'm just not bound by it.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
If you think that everything that God ever commanded is bound on us today, why aren't you building an ark?
However, I do follow the entire New Testament, as it commands.
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
