when you reboot your machine, just before the windows logo (splash screen) appears, there is a pause...hit F8 and you will get the option to put your 'puter in safe mode

What's this latch stuff? I think F8 is the way to go. Not F then 8, but F8 at the top of the keyboad.

It should be F8 duing the BIOS load, before Windows starts..... Have you tried that already?

F8 franticly as it's starting up.

There's a latch in the middle of your window, I think you pull it to the right to lock it.
