Have you seen a dr about this? You might need meds.
Even with meds, physical activity is the best free remedy. It makes you too tired to feel anxious. Also, your body releases endorphins and that makes you feel better.

Can't sleep, Can't eat...yeah I know the feeling. As stated in a previous answer, take some time to figure out the root of the anxiety. Make changes if possible. If not, I suggest seeing a doctor. Anxiety is a real disease and can be rather serious if not treated. There's nothing wrong with needing a little help to relax. Some people are just naturally high strung. I also suggest exercising. Helps to relieve stress and makes you feel better about yourself. Best of luck!

See a counselor and talk to your family doctor to see if you have an anxiety disorder. Try to I.D. the cause for your anxiety and resolve that issue. You need to rule out that you do not have a medical condition that is triggering this (thyroid for example). At home rememedies:
1. A hot bath/shower. The body when anxious vasoconstricts your blood vessels, by getting hot, your body start to overheat and the blood vessels with vasodialate to let off heat by putting blood closer to the skin (That is why you turn red after a hot shower or exercise).
2. Exercise. At least 20 minutes every day.
3. Listen to music, books on tape, anything that takes your mind off you problems.
4. Eat. At least 4 times a day. Even if its just a few crackers, regulate your caloric intake will help.
5. Sleep. You need to get adequate sleep to restore the brain.
6. Go to the library and research anixety and treatment. Knowledge is power.
7. Talk. Find someone to vent to. A family member, pastor, your pet, someone.
8. No recreation drug use, limit your caffiene intake.
9. Prayer.
Good luck!

Write up a list of the things that make you feel anxious and strategies of how you could solve them- often doing this with another person is helpful, as they can help you to gain true perspective on the situation and, a lot of the time, help you to understand that you really are overreacting about certain things.
Try finding ways to release your anxiety- exercise is great, maybe start a blog at http://www.livejournal.com/ for example- it's not everyone's thing, but I know a lot of people who find it to be a great way to express their emotions and opinions and also meet people with similar interests.
Keeping busy is a great way to avoid anxiety, so picking up a hobby will keep your active mind away from it.
Try relaxing things like meditation, yoga, burning natural oils, wearing loose-fitting, comfortable clothes, making special 'time-out time' for yourself once a week and indulging in something you love- anything to take you away from your hectic mind.
If none of this works, you may want to consider seeing a psychologist or counselor and perhaps your doctor.
Anxiety can stem from a chemical imbalance, rather than the events occuring in your life- I know a couple of people who have suffered from anxiety disorders that was related to chemical imbalances and they've expressed that medication really helped- there's nothing to be ashamed of in situations like this-- just like people with diabetes need shots of insulin, people with the incorrect chemical balance in their brain that modulates anxiety and mood sometimes need medication to help sort things out.
I hope you work through your anxiety soon!

I have the same problems. I have learned a few methods -
Put one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest. Concentrate on your breathing first breath in and breathe out to where your chest comes out and then breathe in and out to where your stomach comes out . Repeat this until you feel better.
Another one is ; you sit in a chair and clench your hands into fists , hold them for about 30 seconds and release. Just do this with different parts of your body . It releases the tension. Also just doing streches helps , like putting your arm across your body and hold it with the oppisite hand and leaning over and trying to touch your toes stuff like that.
Also , try listening to some soothing music like country , classical , or something that makes you feel good. But try to avoid rap or heavy metal it only causes agression.
Hope this helps , good luck and god bless.
P.S I just read Charles B 's answer , I gave him a thumbs up. Lay off the sugar and caffine -just limit it to one soda and maybe one small sweet treat. I remember I had a period of time where my anxiety was bad and i discovered part of it was too much sugar and caffine , I was so jumpy and nervous it didn't take much to set me me off .

Try to figure out the cause of your anxiety. Work? Family? health? Money?. When you know the reasons you can find solutions. Are you having panic seizures? There are many good medicines in Homeopathy which can be suggested if you give more details.

Try setting an appointment with a therapist. They can really help, and have the medical background to assist you if you need more than talk therapy.

I agree that lots of physical exercise can help. Try that for a few days and if it doesn't seem to be helping consult a doctor

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the meds, don't know how you feel about yoga or meditation, but those seemed to help me out. try to exercise or read to get your mind off of what it is causing it, and try to not think about it so much either, you will find that it helps you control it. but like the person who answered earlier, try to find out what is causing it, and try to work that out.
