Don't eat junk food, you will only gain fat. You should want to gain more muscle, but a little fat gain is inevitable. Trying to follow a calorie counting diet with a certain number of grams of proteins, carbs, etc is tedious.
Drink a lot of milk, preferably a gallon per day, but maybe not that much considering your size. Try to drink as much as possible. Drinking a lot of milk will definitely add weight and mass.
Eat like a horse, but not on junk foods or fatty stuff. Lots of meats, whole wheat and grain breads, fruits like bananas and raisins, oatmeal, cereals (not sugary stuff like cocoa puffs of capn crunch), beans, eggs, nuts, basically eat a whole lot of food but keep it healthy.
Begin a weight lifting program so you will feed your muscles with your food as you increase mass and weight.
But the main thing is just eat, eat, eat.

First of all, it is recommended that you undergo a physical examination with you doctor to check for an underlying disorder. You may have a health problem that requires treatment.
Here are some general guidelines:
Eat a diet consisting of at least 300 grams of complex carbohydrates, 100 grams of protein, and 2,500-3,000 calories a day. Include starchy vegetables such as potatoes and beans, as well as grains, turkey, chicken, fish, eggs, avocados, safflower oil, raw cheeses, nuts and seeds. Eat only whole-grain/ whole-wheat breads, pasta, crackers, and cereals.
But remember, do not eat fried foods or junk foods for extra calories. Also eliminate coffee, tea, soft drinks and anything else with caffeine.
Good luck!

The fitness / health food stores often sell weight gain shake mix. BodyBuilders use it to add mass for building. Each drink averages about 3000 calories. You can try using that.
Or....sit on your butt every night and eat ice cream and other junk food. I think the weight gain drinks are healthier though.

don't eat a lot of fast food because then you just gain pure fat. Protein, with maybe a supplement shake they are good for energy and gaining muscle. A good diet and exercise with one of these might not make you gain to much but will help keep you healthy. Good luck :)
