Have you asked HER what she would be interested in? I never made any of mine do anything except learn to swim. Other than that it has been their choice.
My one daughter is in softball, cheer and soccer. My other daughter is in tennis, soccer and does art.

I guess it really depends on how old she is and what she likes. I wouldn't start anything organized before she is at least in the 3rd or 4th grade. Unless she is going to be the next Tara Lipinski, I don't think there is a rush to get her started in competing. I would just let her do an activity that is fun and active. If she is not in school, a play group may be all she needs.
This is all my opinion, of course. I just feel that our society forces our kids into too much too soon.

Let her visit different classes and see which one she takes the most interest in.
You didn't mention your daughter's age, but if she is at least 5 you may also want to consider AYSO soccer. Each child gets to play at least half of each game, and coaches and parents are taught to be positive.

Judo! It means "the gentle way", and it's like Karate in that it's self-defense and martial arts, only non-violent. You learn to use your opponent's balance and weight against them, so in theory, you could "throw" people larger than yourself, without hurting anyone.

Karate! She'll learn grace, discipline, and self-defense: three great skills for any daughter to have.

Is she old enough to decide for herself? Call around and find out if any of those schools will let her take a class or two for a trial period.

I agree with everyone else on this one
Whatever she is interested in. Don't push her into something because it is what you want.
I think kids need to be involved in something, keeps them out of trouble as they get older.

How old is she? Lets her pick one and only one. School work comes first and kids do not need too many activities.
