I wonder the same question about those who believe in god.

I am not an atheist, so maybe I have no right to even answer this question. I am opinionated, so what the hell. Some people think more logically, for lack of a better word, than others. It is illogical to believe in something that cannot be seen or touched. Also, it is hard for all of us to believe that this all powerful being would allow this world to be so violent and hateful. Those supposed religious people spouting hate and judgment sure don't help matters. I am not saying that I, or anyone else, can make an unbeliever into a believer. You sure won't convince anyone while explaining why they will go to hell.

Not sure. I think logical / statistical people have a much harder time believing in spiritual things than the rest of us. Not saying that atheists are logical or statistical as a general thing. I think something is just missing in their life and they spend their life always seeking to find something that has always been available to them. Plus those I've encountered always seem angry at the world.

Most do. Some have come from strict religious backgrounds were religion was battered into their heads until they could take it no longer but on the other hand some people just don't care. They love to think that no one is watching them or judging them it makes it easier to go about their life with no worries. If you don't need God then so be it go about your life and do as you may but give those who do believe the same courtesy.

Atheism is a religion. And they believe in God. Why else would they go on and on about God's non-existence.
