I've been unhinged around him since I was in the tenth grade and now I'm a freshman. I get butterflies in my stomach around him. Whatever physical contact he gives me e.g lightly touches my arm it feels like it's gonna set alight. We're friends. I'm told (by observers of our friendship thing) that he feels the same way but we can't date. We're not allowed to for religious purposes and he's a youth leader (he's 21) so he's not going to be hypocritical. He ended our friendship but when I look at him, that " thing" is still there and now he avoids me. Help

Those people who chirped about our age difference: I'm 18, he's 21. We've been friends since I was 15 and he was 18. Nobody's gonna get thrown into jail.

Since he can be thrown in jail for having any type of relationship with a person your age, I fail to see the problem. Get over it. Wait until you are older and I would guess the feelings will be different.

I can see love pretty much in here. What you are referring to as the "thing" is called frisson, i.e. some sort of attraction; you get butterflies in your stomach when this guy is near you/ talking to you, or you get all that flippy. I'm quiet sure that you are in love with this guy!

i dont understand what your religion has to do with it. arent yall the same religion? thats what most people want-someone of the same faith. tell him your honest feelings. and if he is mature the way a youth leader should be, yall should be able to work it out.

girl i feel ur pain, i was in that situation not long ago. the best advice i got was that ignore him and he will come running coz pining for him just gives him power but if u just act like you don't care he will come around. it's the attention that you are givivng him that allows him to resist.... trust me it works i know.

he has higher better reasons for not being around you .
this sounds like a crush/infatuation situation.
give it time, eventually a new hottie ( hopefully your AGE) will show up.
