same reason why good things happen to bad people, read the book of Job, the Sun shines on the just and the unjust. and sometimes its only a testing of your faith to make you strong and for the Lord can show you how he can deliver you out of every situation

There are two reasons:
1) We have not lived a good life and so we suffer temporally for all the sins we commit. The more we do for others and for God, like going to Church and studying our faith and promoting God, keeping the commandments the more we are rewarded both spiritually and temporally. Every time we sin there is a temporal punishment attached.

2)Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, we no longer live in a Paradise. We now must work by the sweat of our brow and bear children in suffering pain. Who was the most innocent? Christ and yet he suffered patiently because it was for a greater cause. He didn't deserve derision, and crucifixion and yet he patiently endured it. He said, "If any man shall follow me let him pick up his Cross and follow me." Trials and hardships and bad things are often crosses. If don't have crosses in our life, we had better ask ourself what kind of life we are leading. Crosses are blessings. The more we accept the sufferings we have in this life, the greater our reward will be in the next life.

I heard a long ago.. When you are walking down the street and your tummy is empty, you see a beautiful, green tree full of apples. You also can see a tree not so green with only a few leaves and the apples are small and barely with color. You pick a rock and who do you try to get the apples from? I guess the Good Tree... Same analogy. You are getting a shitty hand it may be because you are doing great, you may be the Beautiful Apple Tree, full of leaves and color... Good Luck and Stay True to yourself!!

Because that's life. We all have trials in our lives. Nobody goes through life without bad things happening at some point. Nobody. If this life is a trial, test, learning experience, whatever you want to call it, then could we really learn and grow UNLESS we had some sort of resistance to overcome? Some trials to live through? Some sort of learning experiences? Nope. That's the whole point of this life - to have bad things happen and to learn to deal with them well.

LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN ALL THAT SEEMS BAD.

Good People. Are you talking about a man or woman in Christ. Only God is good and the people who accept His Son Jesus Christ. That's how we can become good.

Assuming this is what you meant, I'll try to answer your question.

A man has a lump of iron and wishes it to be a shovel. He heats a fire and places this lump into it heating it till its red hot. The lump of iron that he had was good just the way it was but he decided to change it into something different to use it differently.

The man removes this lump from the fire and starts to beat this red hot iron with a heavy hammer to start to form it into shape. Its back to the fire and back to the hammer.

This goes on till it in the final shape and ready for the purpose he had in mind.

A word of wisdom is sufficient.><>

Because we are all "victims" of original sin and unfortunately, we do not live in a vacuum. One bad decision by one has a rippling effect and touches many other lives. Jesus Christ came to redeem us from original sin but many do not accept that and they go on using their free will in ways that hurt other innocent people. God permits this (for now) and we have to live in this world and are sometimes touched by the sins and evil decisions of others.

Suffering builds character, strenght, compassion, understanding, sympathy and empathy - some of the attributes you need to be a good person. Suffering should make you better not bitter. Many people are the fantastic people they are because of the things they suffered.

If this life that person is good, then the bad things that happen to him could be karma from his past life.
