I take 100mg each night before bed and it seems to have helped lift my mood tremendously.

It is essentially Triptophan (the stuff in turkey and milk that makes you sleepy after a big holiday dinner) so you take it before bed and it helps you sleep, it increases your metabolism as you sleep and allows your brain receptors accept seratonin easier so you feel refreshed and good in the morning, instead of not wanting to crawl out of bed.

I have noticed an extreme change in my outlook in the past six months since I've been taking 5-HTP and I plan to keep using it as my antidepressant. It's a great alternitive to taking Rx drugs.

I use to use it when I didn't have the money to see a doctor. It did help to calm me and help me through some anxiety filled moments. Even though it helped some I felt I needed something stronger so I finally did have to break down and go to the doctor. However you will have to try it for yourself to see how it works for you. Just like any other pill, for some people it works for others it doesn't.
