I would dearly love to knopw what the average weekly food bill is for two people living in the UK. Do you keep a check on how much you spend each week on food alone?

Do you go shopping during the week for food as well?

Perhaps saying Weekly Supermarket Expenditure instead of just food... would have been more appropriate

I try to shop at Tesco's as they stock a good range of organic food stuffs. It is more expensive, so I probably spend between £60-£80 per week but like the rest of you it varies on whether or not I require non-food items and depending whether hubby phones me up to take home beer for him to drink whilst watching the footie.
I would like to go to the monthly farmers market more often but it only comes out our way at the beginning of each month. But you can the difference in the taste of the food to that of the non organic food from the supermarket.

I try and spend £50 for me and my other half per week.
However, I also get toiletries and cleaning products from the supermarket which usually bumps the bill up to around an avergage of £65 a week.
If I spend more one week, I always try and make it cheaper the following week too.
Obviously it depends what you eat, but we more fresh food than anything else and rarely buy freezer food, which I think is usually a bit cheaper.

We shop once a week (to Morrisons) and it can range a bit depending on how much alcohol we get and the amount of cleaning products we need. On a good week £50, on a bad week £70. We don't buy any yucky conveinence foods and try and take advantage of the bogof offers. How much do you spend and where do you usually shop?

Hey, I keep a check on our food bill because I am absolutely staggered at how much I am spending. No, we do not eat Fillet Steak and Lobster or buy masses of luxury items (this has additional VAT). The bill for 5 of us is between £275 & £300 (I have 2 teenage sons). Like to be in my shoes??

I would say we spend around £80 a week, but we like good food, and quality meat etc, so we probably spend more on food than most people do in the UK. We have no kids, so we figure that we can afford to spend enough on quality food.

On average in the UK 10% of our expenditure goes on food. This is a massive drop from the 1970's when it used to be about 30%.

We go food shopping once a week, tuesday. If we run out, we make do with whats left.
Not tight or poor, just don't see the point in living in a supermarket.
£60 for 2 veggie adults.
