I need to borrow 5500$. I can make the payments but have bad credit from past history. I live in canada, does anybody know how and where a could get a loan ? It's very urgent !

Try Wells Fargo, formerlly TransCanada Credit.
It will be high interest, but as long as you have solid employment, they should loan it to you,

I dont know how things work in Canada, but in the U.S., credit is a very important thing. I would think you could talk with someone at a bank, or even a smaller credit/loan institution. I would think that you could still get a loan, 5,500 is not a lot of money, but I would think that you would have to pay a higher interest rate. Sit down and look at your finances, money coming in, money going out...and see where you can make some cuts, and then approach a lender to see what they can do for you. Good Luck.

If you were in the US, I would suggest Prosper.com. Try doing a Google search on prosper and see what else comes up. If you have any assets that you could use for a loan that may be a good way to go. The of course there is always the Bank of M&D. (Mom and Dad).
