Does anyone have a good meaning for the word.Would it be someone who always has an answer or just a show off about there smartness and never has an answer?

Pretentitious means that you are a fake. Always trying to be something you are not, just to impress people. It also means insincerity. You put up a front to make it look like you care about something, when it is all a show.
