Well, I can't speak for all women but I will say this ofter guys smile at me! However, women can tell the different type of smiles too! Like there's the genuine nice guy smile, the sneaky (want to get your number smile), then there's the pervert smile (like he's undressing you and fantasizing about you)! With that said it depends on my mood when theses guys smile at me that I respond if I am having a bad day, morning, I usually won't smile at anyone! Now if I am having a good day, or morning or whatever I usually will smile back at most but the pervert normally gets the evil eye! Lastly, here's one for the road )) You can't be mad at that and yes you are worthy of civility, it's just that everyone is different so with all life's stresses it's hard to manage to smile in spite of for some people, just remember that it bounces off of you and you won't miss your blessings, your smile may not be returned but it could have brightened or inspired someones day!

Maybe they think you're trying to hit on them, so they don't smile back. Personally if a guy smiles at me, I always do the polite thing and smile back. It doesn't mean that I like the person or anything but if a girl smiles back at a guy, some guys might take this the wrong way. So I can kinda understand why some girls might not smile back. I'm not like that though. Again, I try to be nice and polite by smiling back at anyone who smiles at me. And then if a guy tries to approach me, I just tell them I have a b/f. Plain and simple.

It's not that we are trying to be stuck up, but many women don't respond to smiles and other greetings because we don't want to be hit on at the time. It's an assumption that any man who approaches us is looking for a relationship in one form or another. Sometimes we just can't be bothered with men, sometimes we already have a partner, and sometimes we just don't like the way you look/dress/attitude, etc...
That being said, don't sweat the girls that ignore you or treat you badly. Focus on the ones that are nice back to you. :-)

Don't be discouraged! Alot of times if women don't smile back it has nothing to do with you personally. They may have something else on their minds. It could also be that they are hesistant to smile because they are not in the mood to be hit on. Continue to smile. It can really lift my mood to get a friendly smile on some days. Even if you only brighten one persons mood, it will be worth it.

Eh? attitude? What attitude? Not guilty! I always smile, but thats cause i'm polite (and often a little flirty, even when i don't fancy the guy).. just a natural thing. Its not all of us, but a lot of girls can be stuck up jerks at times.. you're probably just eyeing up the wrong ladies

Dude, if we're having a bad day, tell me what the heck should we smile about. Besides when a guy smiles at you and he expects you to smile back sometimes he might expect a lot more or he might see it as a way to pursue conversation when we're simply not interested. More or less we don't want to encourage anything.

maybe the girls u hang around are twats... if they think they so much more superior than you.. they arnt worth the trouble.... if i was a guy id prefere a bubble happy chick than a snobby stick thin celery eating grrrr,,, that will walk all ova you
