Try a cranberry color. Against a Winter white background, it would look beautiful.

I would say white and dark red.
The flower for the month of January is snowdrops, and the birthstone is garnet. I think a white and garnet wedding would be gorgeous. Here's a little ditty about garnets.
About Garnets and Their Lore
The Garnet has been coveted for thousand of years.
This rich red stone was once thought to activate deep eternal love, to ground
and protect the wearer, to promote good health, and even to cure a fever.
Garnets were often worn for protection when traveling.
Throughout the years this gemstone has symbolized many
things including fire, faith, truth, grace, constancy, and fidelity.
Garnets were said to prevent skin disease when worn on the body
and to assure the wearer of love, faithfulness, and safety from wounds
as well as to protect the wearer from evil and terrifying dreams.
It was thought that when danger approached, the stone would lose its brilliance.
A garnet's hardness is 6.5 - 7.5 moh
It is the Birthstone for January and the
Token for 11th Wedding anniversary
It is said that King Solomon wore a large red garnet along with eleven other
magical gems (representing the 12 steps of Jacob's Ladder) in his breast
plate to help him win battles and to keep him in touch with the deity.
In the 13th century, garnets were worn to repel insects, evil spirits and the evil eye of others.
In Egyptian times, garnets were taken into the tombs with the dead as payment to
the gods for safe passage through the nether world.
The word "garnet" is believed to have come from the Greek word "granatum,"
or pomegranate seed, because ancient jewelry makers grouped the tiny
gemstones in a cluster that resembled the seed-filled fruit. Deep red in
color, almandine garnet is the most popular gem in the garnet family.
Occasionally deep enough red to appear black, almandine garnet is sometimes
hollowed in order to let light shine through the stone, highlighting its red
color. Garnet displays the greatest variety of color of any mineral,
occurring in every color except blue.
Below is the link for a picture of snowdrops, and a garnet. I think it would be lovely if you could use some snowdrops in your wedding bouquets. Congratulations!

It really depends on what is the season of that month in the country you are in. If it's the first week of January, I'd say RED and GOLD to make the guests still feel warm since that's just after the holidays. =)

Probably a darker, bold color. Like red or blue. Spring and summer weddings tend to seem lighter, carefree, see through type colors. Fall wedding have fall colors, and I think winter weddings need to have stronger, bolder colors. Just my thoughts!

Burgundy and Silver is really nice together - stay away from christmasy colours - by January some people are sick of seeing them. If you can find a nice deep red or red wine colour you'll find its easy to bring other colours and it goes great with White!
Enjoy!

I would say you still wear white...but I did see this wedding story on WE and this lady had a soft pink wedding dress and I thought it looked really nice. If you wear white your girls can wear a dark color like a wine color...hope this helps!!
