Not a good thing. Most jobs that offer a bonus, you have at least a 50 to qualify. What blows most out of the water is the math portion. With her current score, not much would be offered to her. She can retake the test, but there is a waiting period.

the asvab is broken up into a bunch of different sections, they are listed below, but based on how you do in all the sections you are given a raw score, i dont think its easy to do that bad on the asvab, i scored in the 90's if i remember right, the lowest ive ever seen or heard of was like in the 40 range,

i guess its possible, but i cant imagine knowing that little

once you take the test you also besides your raw score, you get percentile scores, these say that you scored higher than say, 85 percent of people who took the test in this section, its also possible that she was in the bottom 20 percent or something, and like i said that might now be her actual raw score on the test

the 26 to 31 thats true, there is up to a five point waiver on some things, but thats a case by case scenario, that would depend on the job she was trying to get but i dont think that 31 for a raw score is high enough to qualify for anything anyway

the services have a few differences between them but the asvab is a basic knowledge test that all military take prior to entering service

It's EXTREMELY doubtful she did good on any bit of the qualifying Line scores.. you need at MINIMUM a 35 raw score on the ASVAB to qualify for any job in any Branch. If she doesn't have a High school diploma, should would need to score a 50 instead..

She will have to take it again. I have heard that waivers are considered for scores between 26-35 based on what the line scores are. Have her go to the library and check out the ASVAB for dummies book and brush up on her test taking skills.

alright here is the deal the army bases your score in two parts there is an asvab score or raw score which goes directly from the asvab from a whol. this is one score your friends was a thirteen, out of a possible 99. now the army now has out in place that you need a 31 to pass or a 26 and high recommendations and school records. now also the army has what is called GP scores. these are scores that are based on your individual areas. english, math, mechanical, etc... these scores count a lot toward your ability to join. if you want more info and stuff e-mail me at broncostud01@yahoo.com

13 is not a good score in any language. However your friend can retake the test scoring at least a 31 (as far as I know). The "qualifying" part is called the AP-GAR score, and that's just to determine what jobs you qualify for.

This is DEFINITELY NOT a good score on the ASVAB at all -- not even close to a good score. The ASVAB is a tool that the US Military uses to best place a potential servicemember to their 'fit' within all the available Skills within the US Military.

If she is still interested in the US Military -- she needs to go back to school or work on refreshing her basic knowledge skills -- everything from Mechanical (anyone around her working on their own vehicles) to Science, to Math Skills to Writing Skills. This needs to be done BEFORE She retakes the ASVAB.

the 13 is just an accumulated score that she got on the asvab. the actual score consists of a number of different "line scores" that range anywhere from 70-130, it is a wierd test, but if she wants her actual scores, just tell her to ask her recruiter for the line scores.

Yeah, it just means she's a dumb *****. LOL
But if she wants to make a fool of herself again she could always retake it. Who knows maybe she'll get a 14 next time.
