Not a fillet steak no, but I have cooked veggie burgers in a toaster and it worked really rather well. For a medium rare steak I'd imagine it would need about the second from highest setting, but keep an eye on it. Under-estimate rather than over-estimate cooking time and strength, as you can always put it back in for longer, but you can't de-cook it!

Cleaning is fairly easy providing you have a removable crumb tray as any fat will drip onto that and then easily cleaned. However, your toaster will probably still smell slightly of charred flesh for the next few rounds of toast!

If you are going to do your steak in a toaster you will need to suspend the toaster up-side down. This allows the fat to drip onto a plate. I did this several years ago after several pints of beer. 10 minutes will produce medium rear but you have 2 issues to consider:- (1) in some toasters the steak will pop out as a result of the auto termination mechanism. (2) to avoid the steak burning on the outside you should toast it for 3 minutes and then switch off the toaster. Then start the toasting process again for a further 3 minutes and switch off. Repeat the cycle until you are happy .......... best to toast a steak in a controlled environment .......

Yeah, a few times First I microwaved it a little to cook the inside. Then I stuck it in the toaster oven with foil around it, except for the top. I don't know how long it took, because I just removed when it looked done. The toaster oven was pretty easy to clean because of the foil, that's why I used it.

Your question is too funny. I am sure you were only jesting. If you are in a hurry for it put it in a covered container and place it in the microwave oven. Actually it only takes a few minutes to fry a fillet in a pan with olive oil. It would become an electrical hazard to place a fish fillet in a toaster. And yes it would be very hard to clean it not impossible.

I don't know if you were just trying to be funny - but it is actually possible. I watched a TV program once about new technology and they cooked a whole meal (bit by bit) in a toaster. Including baked beans!!!
You don't have to clean the toaster at all. You just have to put the items you wish to cook/heat in one of these special bags.
It tells you that you can cook toasted sandwiches etc in these bags, but you can experiment. Its a bit like when microwaves first came out and everyone just used them to make baked potatoes!

i sincerely hope you mean those flip toasters you make toasties in , as against a bread toaster. Anyway..if so, yes its no prob at all. at the end of the day they are exactly what that george foreman grill thing is, without the little funnel for the fat. just keep flipping it over and make sure you grease it up a little.

i havent tryed it. I would of thought you would have to have a separate toaster for bread and steak as it may be quite hard to clean unless you turn it on empty to burn any meat flavor off.. Maybe you could do a chicken breast in it as well.

Put the bread for the steak sandwich in the toast, put the steak under the grill.
