How about deportation for immigrants engaging in hate speech and a moratorium on immigrants for the next 15 years.

Who says amnesty for immigrants is a good thing? Many immigrants are rejected entry into the country as they have no reason for not living in their own country, and if they were in Britain they would be a drain on the Nation's treasury. Mnesty for immigrants means more immigrants, means more money spent on them, means higher taxes.

And as someone else has said: Tony Blair is the Prime Minister, not a dictator. He leads the government, but he doesn't ahve the authority to just make a decision and make it law. Amnesty for immigrants needs the co-operation of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

No! It will NEVER be the right time!!
The UK will not implement an amnesty program for illegal immigrants, Immigration Minister Liam Byrne Wednesday, and will instead seek "fair but tough" enforcement of current rules. Byrne's comments came at the conclusion of an official review of the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND), the UK office charged with controlling the country's borders, which was ordered by UK Home Secretary John Reid
Byrne had previously raised the possibility of amnesty for illegal immigrants currently in the UK, a proposal opposed by most UK citizens according to a recent poll.

The UK has become a magnet for criminals and the dishonest. These people do not recognise or live by our codes and standards. They throw away their documents so arrive here with no identity so it is impossible to trace where they are from or to check their stories. They claim to come from the most oppressive countries and the do gooders fall for it.

The UK is not able to absorb the vast numbers coming here. Housing is a problem for our own and the schools are now unable to cope with all the different languages being presented to them which means in my school alone UK teachers are having to leave and immigrants are coming in solely because they speak the languages of the pupils who now massively out number our own children. This in turn means that ours are kept back because they don't understand the lessons!

We need to return the majority of these people we cannot allow ourselves to be overrun like this.

As for Blair boiling in oil would be too good.

Yes he should! Why not... He couldn't find them to kick them out anyways, how many are there? noone knows.

I hear lots of this "why should WE foot the bill". I think you'll find when you look into it that immigration is a boost to the economy - even the illegal ones net contribute. Sure some people will be collecting benefits but odds on someone else with the same ethnicity will be paying more in taxes.

The pakistani community is a more productive community than the native English. I'm English but see plenty of White English underage mothers and other groups who drag down the welfare state.

Solution: ABOLISH THE WELFARE STATE AND LET ANYONE IN WHO WANTS TO TAKE THEIR CHANCES.

That's a start to little to late ..if you ask me ..what would be a good gesture on top of amnesty ..is to allow another 2 million legitimate immigrants to make home in this country ..and pledge to give lot more aid to poorer country's..that way we may start getting some of the over due respect from others..and it will go towards some of the wrongs we done ..to embarrassed to say

No, the one great thing for Blair to do before leaving office would be to say that he's going tomorrow and then, here's the really good bit, actually tell the truth for once!

AMNESTY from what? Immigrants chose to come to this country; No one compels them to visit. If they chose to do so illegally, then they have none else to blame but themselves, for making such a very silly mistake. Best they leave in entirely voluntary circumstances. For BLAIR to even contemplate Amnesty for immigrants, would be "great"; a great mistake, tantamount to political suicide. "In your Dreams"

Amnesty, why would a legal immigrant need amnesty? You must mean those illegal leeches that really need to be shot in the head and dropped in the ocean.

He has not got time to put right his wrongs. No he should stop immigration now. Set up a task force to find illegals and deport them. Then set up a civilised immigration system that helps the people who are honest and in need.
