As a Christian....yes?....no?*
As an American, no.

The very earliest church was Pacifist. Christians were martyred en masse, without the Early Fathers organizing an attempt to organize armed resistance. Constantine, who conquered "in this sign," was neither an Early Father, nor a Pacifist, of course. Those of the Anabaptist tradition trace their roots back to so-called heretical groups who quickly became suspicious of the motives of the Church-state union, and whose theology is thus strongly pacifistic and organized around strong LOCAL leadership. Some Church historians say this branding had more to do with their unwillingness to join the military than with theological concerns.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a strongly Pacifist Christian in the German resistance movement against Nazism. He came to believe, though, that the Christian response to Hitler should be an attempt at assasination.
I imagine other Pacifist Christians will eventually have to do the same kind of soul-searching that Bonhoeffer did, at some point after the UN stations its standing armies all over the world. And it probably will. The US already has the military bases built and ready for them.

I am not a Christian but anyone with a IQ above room temperature could see what a bad idea a U.N with a 5 million man army, and unlimited funding is. We would only be setting ourselves up for a global dictatorship. There will never be total peace as long as there are humans, as Plato said "only the dead have seen the end of war". The U.N as a organization is a joke. It takes them months if not years to render even the simplest of decisions, and they have the nerve to appoint countries like China, and Libya on the commission for human rights. I say abolish the U.N.

The UN for far is a complete failure. It has never prevented one war since it has been established.. In Lebanon, the UN soldiers watched and did nothing as weapons were being brought in against Israel. This went on for years. The UN is dominated by rogue arab nations who want to destroy Israel, and has constantly condemned Israel for defending itself while remaining silent on constant terrorist activity of Palestinians. It has a pattern of anti-semitism. It never once condemned the PA for all the suicide bombings. The UN is internally corrupt and morally bankrupt. The are human rights violations in Sudan and other palces, and it does nothing about them.... It has never contributed anything to world peace, and has caused more delays in resolving problems than it has contributed strong solutions. Sadamm Hussein never listened to the UN. Neither does the current Iran leader... No one (evil) listens to or respects the UN and so it really has no influence.

No. The United Nations philosophy is based on compromise at all cost. Granted, Christians are expected to compromise in many instances. However, being expected to compromise on such things as population control through abortion, birth control, euthanasia, etc. violates a major Christian tenet.
The UN believes that human secularism is the correct path to whirled peas. This philosophy includes the idea that control is the means to an end.
Christianity teaches that freedom is the answer.

pal, basically about each human being on the board of the UN is a mason. The UN is not any sturdy and surely looks to assist people. The UN must have had peace keepers in Israel and Lebanon 4 years in the past, yet they waited untill they began conflict.

The UN does not support that Christ will bring peace to the earth.
It soon will be destroyed with the rest of man's governments.
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
