because most dairy cows don't get much exercise, even compared to most humans, and because there's a lot of fat in milk before it's processed. they take it out to make butters, creams, yogurts, cheeses, and other fatty dairy foods. they have to get the fat to put in it from somewhere, so if you want lots of fats from your milk, keep your cow fat, which isn't difficult considering they have four stomachs to fill and only one body to use it all.

Dairy cows are not fat, Their energy is in producing milk.
Feed lot heifers and steers are , their going to be meat for your table.

Because they don't drink milk, they produce it. There so fat because all they do it stand there and eat all day :)
