Such an age old question and one that is almost paridoxial. The faith that I am familiar with the most is Chrisitanity and by definition or by reading the Bible one will see a progression in which it is all about love.

So there for if you believe these truths and are willing to fight for these truths, then at that moment you would be giving up on the very principal in which you believe.

I suppose the answer to your question is no, I would not go to war. My faith is to be lived, I don't need to defend my faith or my right to have my faith. But I live in America and am not subjected to perhaps some situations others might encounter

If people can go war because of material gain or ideology, i see no reason why they should not go to war to defend their faith. some people go to war to defend their families, some for emancipation and faith trancends all these other reasons, besides peace does not come on a platter of gold, sometimes in order to achieve peace you must fight a war.

I don't have a religion, I believe in several things.
My most important belief is: no war!
I couldn't defend that with war...
It's a good belief, because for the sake of peace, I don't have to let go of it. :)

Only Truth lives long and no War can defeat it.

In its entire history of 5000+ years of existence, Hindu civilization is the only civilization which has never attacked any other civilization for expansions or for any other reason...thats why it is still there strong and flying and others who believed in bloody wars are no more.

Always remember , TOLERANCE is mighter than sword. Hindu civilization and Mahatma Gandhi are biggest proofs of this statement.

there have been more wars started in the name of Religion than many people realize. feel as though to DEFEND one's Belief System would be acceptable but not to be aggresive in starting a war to push one's Religion upon another.

I would fight for the freedom for all to believe as they want. But my personal beliefs are not something to fight about. I wouldn't go to war just because someone says "you're wrong." I got past that attitude in the 4th grade.
