That story comes from a 4th century heretical book and the full story is found in "The Apocryphal New Testament" published by the Oxford University Press. It's an Alladin's cave of interesting stories - all fakes and/or heretical and many found their way into the koran.
for aissa - the point is that the story is a known fake. It never happened. So much for that story. It wouldn't matter at all since it doesn't appear in the Bible BUT Mohommed stole it for his great work of fiction. since one story is a known fake, how many others are. Ever considered that or are you (and others) so deluded that you believer everything that's in a book just because others tell you to.

Its funny do people actually think that Muhammad/mountain story is true. As for the story of Jesus being apocryphal, do we think that what is in the bible is what actually happened or was it just chosen to suit a particular line of thought. Apocryphal means what those people rejected, and its obvious enough that they lied about Jesus in any case, so why would it being apocryphal have any bearing on its objective truth. I guess rationalist999 isn't that rational after all.....nevermind

I can mention one. Jesus is stated to have fashioned a dove/pigeon out of soil, breathed into it and it flew away. Highly unlikely of course as all of Jesus miracles were for deep religious reasons; such a pointless show of power is completely out of character for him.
It is also stated that Mohamed was asked to perform a miracle to prove himself. He looked at a distant mountain and ordered it to move. Nothing happened. His reaction was to utter the famous saying, " If the mountain will not come to Mohamed, Mohamed must go to the mountain.
