Some people who are overly religious do miss out on life. I know some that don't drink, don't dance, Christian women who don't and wont shave their armpits or legs, Always wear skirts long and to the knee if not longer, keep fences a certain height around their property, don't wear make up.
This is all nonsense. I'm sorry I ate to get on peoples beliefs or to judge. But there is nothing in the bible that says you shouldn't do any of these things. This is all ma made doctrine that you follow not Gods. All god ever warned about drinking and things of that nature was to never do anything in excess to the point where you cant function or you cant worship or cant take care of your family which should be your main responsibility if you have one!

Absolutely not! I find life with more freedom, blessings, joy and uplifting and love oh so sweet, with Jesus. I have sisters in Christ that lift me up and encourage one another. I receive so much more as I serve the Lord, then what I give out in service to the Lord. I have a strong shield,my Father is the richest, in the universe,He supplies all my needs. He is the Great Physician and by His stripes I am healed. My Father has many mansions, and He has prepared a place for me. I have an invitation to the greatest banquet that will ever be held. I have no fear of death,as I know!!! He will bring me into eternal life.Who should I fear??

It is well with my soul and I have Peace in my heart. I am loved with an everlasting love and I have the BEST FRIEND in the universe. I am not missing out in life, I have it most abundantly, and I am thankful.

Not at all. I feel like my life is augmented. I have an extended family outside of my own and a heavenly Father who has prepared a place for me when I leave this wretched existence. I have a shoulder to cry on no matter what time of day or night that will listen, but not judge or give me advice I can't use. I have a lifeline for help at my beck and call. I have someone to love who would never hurt me or betray that love. What more could I need?

I don't think they would.. otherwise they wouldn't be devout. They're proud of their religiousness and the way they live their life. They would think that smoking, drinking, partying and orgies were wrong.. so why would they think that they were missing out on something... If you lived your whole life never knowing what a TV was.. or that it existed.. would you miss it? No, you wouldn't.. and you wouldn't think that you were missing out on anything.

Definitely not... it was a shock when i at times realised what i was doing, the level of sacrifice and commitment, but it was also a joyous occassion and i felt soo much relief, it was like a burden had been lifted off my shouulders and again and agin as i grew more commited i realised what Jesus meant when he said, 'My yoke is easy and my burden is light.' i also love it that i seem to be able to quote text and remember scripture, as if its there when i need it. The whole experience is amazing, i just want to make sure i stay in tune, on the straight and narrow, the sacrifice is worth it but i have bigger concerns which are the next step, staying close to the lord and belonging to God.
Its a beautiful place to be..... i promise.

I'm not religious, I have a faith.....and I thought the same way as you, that it must be very boring to give up all that fun. but when Jesus called me it was anything but boring! I've never had such a rollercoaster of fun. We see people healed, addicts cured, lives totally changed, it's an awesome thing to be around Jesus. Life without him just doesn't make sense. Read about his miracles, he was a radical, he did miracles, and we are the same.

Great Question.

I used to think that it would be horrible to give up my dreams and goals to give my life to Christ. I tried anything and everything trying to run away from GOD. I finally surrendered and gave my life to GOD. Life has been so much more full sense that time. God takes me to places I didn't even know existed. It is an awesome ride, and even the rough times are learning experiences. I wouldn't trade my relationship with Jesus for the whole world.

GOD Bless YA

No, actually I feel that I never really lived until I was Born Again. Although I had a full life before and did things most folks never get the chance to do, I realize I was actually dead. Now, the quality of my life exceeds my wildest dreams.

Peace.

Do you devout atheist people feel you are missing out on life? I assume you would answer no. You would probably say that your beleifs make you free and happy. I would say the same about my religion.
