That is something that goes back to about 1800 years ago. The Sunni killed a person who the Shiite somehow not exactly half worshiped. The Shiites beliefs are kinda wrong and disturbed. They also believe that if a Shiite person kills a Sunni person, the Shiite person will go to Heaven. I don't know how and where they came up with that but as I said, their beliefs were played with. But there are still some sane people out there. If you're talking about Iraq, and the daily killings and bombings and the cival war, then that's actually due to th usa for starting the SO CALLED WAR AGAINST TERRORISM. BUSH KNOWS THAT THAT IS NOT GOAL IN IRAQ, BUT FOR OIL.
I rest my case.

They are not Shia and Sunni Muslims that are killing each other, they are Wahhabies who are killing both Shia and Sunni Muslims.
Let me explain briefly about Wahhabies.
It was about 200 years ago which a new belief related to Islam but completely to the contrary founded in Saudi Arabia. That was preached by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. His opponents derived their name for the movement from him, but eventually his followers came to use it themselves
The people related to these believes are called Wahhabies.
What they don't understand is that they are NOT real Muslims. they are just getting an excuse to fight and then renaming it Jihad and they certainly will not go to heaven or w/e they believe in.
They're taking it to the point of extremism and radicalism and they're fanatics.
Al-Qaeda is consisting of Wahhabi people who cannot tolerate anybody but themselves. They even kill Muslims not believing like them.
Their origin is Saudi Arabia and they are related to it's government and so they are spreading in the name of Islam, specially in Pakistan and now in Iraq.

Killing a person who does not believe the particular
line of faith of ones religion is norm in Christianity and
in Islam. But not in Buddism and Hinduism.

it's a valid question wht they all gave it you with the catholice and protestant thing I don't know...
but my answer is this all religions are man made... unless a bloody great sparkly hand comes down and points to the one and says this man is my prophet then why should anyone believe it? if this is the case I am the prophet of the gods do you believe me... no of course not... all religion is a form of control of the stupid masses who follow it... and christian to mormon and all in between and beyond are full of crap.

Catholics and Protestants fought in Ireland, too.... They had some of the worst riots...
By the way, what kind of question is that to ask on internet. Experts on Islam aren't at Yahoo! Answers to answer these questions. Clearly you have the intention to offend people. I am not Muslim, just sayin it.
