When i check out peoples finished audio setup i see amps, woofers, speakers, blah blah blah, and then out of nowere theres a fire extinguisher.
Thats like going to a concert and you see cool people, the bands, the speakers, than out of no were theres a fire man standing right next to the lead singer.
I would understand it on a maxed out tuner or race car. because engine's can actually egnite.
But i've never herd of a amplifier lighting a guys car on fire.
Am i missing something here???

Besides engine fire and pulling over to save people from burning buildings...
What does it have to do with the audio???

people polish it up and set it up and bold it down so that you cant even get it in a short time in case there is a fire. and they arrange it as if it were a part of there audio setup

Let's say that one of the 0 awg power wires that is connected directly to the battery gets cut or crimped by some metal part of the body causing a direct short to ground. What that will give you is a giant heating element that will cause not only the insulation around it but everything else it's touching to catch on fire. No, this is not likely because there is a fuse on the battery (if it was installed properly) but it can happen. I have seen it. I have seen a car burn to the ground because of it. Better safe than sorry.

at first glance an extinguisher seems out of place with an audio system.
but few people know that there are extinguishers that are designated for electrical fires only. you can tell by "a-b-c" code that's always clearly marked on the 'can' portion.
so, next time you're checking out a system with that kind of poop, look for the letter code that specifies electric fires.(way more money than a gen. purpose)if the letter code is wrong, or not clearly marked at all(that's fire dept orders!), then you a legit reason to say , "hey! this dude don't know what he's doing!"
say it loud too! it's okay, they won't hurt you. honest!

Nothing, its wear you keep it.
You cannot keep the fire extinguisher near the engine, because you would never be able to reach it when the engine caught fire. Back seat is too impracticle
You can open the boot, and there it is. The concern is not the amp, its just the best place to keep it in many cases.
At a concert, i would think the main concern is pyrotechnics that are quite often used (e.g. club fire a few years back..)

you boost an excellent element. yet the two well-being and protection regulationsa and your insurance enterprise require you to purpose to handle a hearth in it is early levels the place it is first observed for instance nonetheless if the hearth is uncontrolled (say an entire room is on hearth) then you definately does not be expected to have all of us handle that hearth. as a hearth extinguisher would be utilized at a frequently secure distance of a pair of meters from the seat of the hearth it is the reason you're expected to offer education to your workers. no longer least the reality that they'd desire to comprehend a thank you to apply the extinguisher interior the shape that a hearth is uncontrolled and blockading an exist and so the extinguisher might elect for use to offer a temporay ruin interior the wall of hearth blockading the go out (for instance). failing to no longer supply education and the extinguishers would desire to bypass away you open to hefty civil lawsuites would desire to any employeesx be injured or worse killed interior the shape of hearth. you would be able to desire to be held criminally negligent for failing to offer the education and kit. so a techniques as raising the alarm specific it is real the guy nearest would desire to first boost the alarm, and the place achieveable attempt to takle the hearth to cut back the wear. your insurance enterprise would desire to refuse to pay out on a declare if no attempt became into made to handle a hearth. good success.

Well if you have a fire in your car it would be nice to put it out as soon as possible and if you cant put it out at least be able to keep it off of your sound system long enough to rip the stuff out of there, and just because you have a fire extinguisher in your car dosnt mean it cant look nice by polishing it to get all the fingerprints off of it, as far as bolting it down. Your car moves by itself and with all the vibrations from the sound system it needs to be quite secure so that its where you put it and you dont have to look around for it when you need it, true some people just use them for decoration but when i get my car running im puttin one in there as i had a problem with a wire under my hood and it melted itself, and untill im CERTAIN that the problem is fixed i will have that in the car.

You can get a fire going if you have a bad connection. Big audio setups have a lot of current running through the system so if a cable comes lose and hits metal, you got a lot of sparks and a fire in no time...Ive seen this happen a bunch...

it has nothing to do with audio. Maybe they just want a fire extinguisher. As a firefighter myself, I have a fire extinguisher in my kitchen, upstairs, downstairs, garage, a halon extinguisher in my office and a fire extinguisher in both vehicles. Having the means to quick extinguishing can save a lot of money and prevent destruction and death. I also have them in my vehicle so if I see someone else with a problem I can use it to help them too

A car electrical fire is possible not common but possible. Also you don't have to be racing for your engine to catch fire.
