I think we really do. I'm not just speaking about myself but lots of guys I know do the same. Men are anthropologically, by nature, confrontational. When we see something we want, it is in our nature to fight for it. If a man is not fighting for you then I am really sorry to say, he probably doesn't love you.
However it is possible that he is just a really passive guy, it depends on the kind of guy he is, you will have to decide that one.
My personal experience is that most guys do fight for what they want.

I'm going with the assumption that you mean fight to defend their woman...
I've had this problem in most of my relationships, and seen it with a lot of friends too- guys always seemed reluctant to stand up for us to their friends or family. Even if we're clearly in the right. We don't want blind loyalty, if we're in the wrong we need to be told. But it's amazing to have somebody around you know will fight your corner when you need them to.
Some guys are just scared that they'll get labelled "under the thumb" if they defend their woman too much.

What do you mean by "fight"? I happen to know that many men DO fight for the woman they love -- both physically and otherwise. Men who don't probably either lack confidence or they're just not man enough to really give their all in a relationship.

Why on earth should they want to or have to? What a bizarre question! Why would you want a man to fight over you or why would you want to fight over a women?
Make love not war - isn't there enough fighting in the world already!

Because we're supposed to be a mature society not bloody cavemen. Would you like us to club you on the head and just claim any woman whenever we see someone we fancy? No? Well that's along the same lines.

because they realise that if they have to fight for the woman they love then the woman cannot truely love them. If she is undecided between one man and another then she isn't the rigth person for them.

If you have to fight then there is nothing left in a relationship. You've lost already.
If she expects you to fight phyiscally then she is not worth it.
I need a better reason to k*** someone.

Depends what for. If another man is with his woman, why should he fight for her, its her decision to be with another man.
