How about neither, and go for a re-usable tupperware sandwich box. I use one for my daughter's school lunch. Much easier on the environment.

In fact, this will interest you (ha) I sent her in today with 2 cut up sausages, 4 crackers, 2 cheese sandwiches, 2 cookies, sultanas and an apple with a carton of orange juice. For breaktime she has a packet of salt & vinegar crisps with a bottle of squash.

She will probably come home with the crusts of the bread, the ends of the sausages and the uneaten sultanas. Her squash will be untouched.

Now, didn't that enlighten you.

I would say foil as you can recycle it at most recycling centers.

Cling film on the other hand is plastic and contains nasty chemicals which get absorbed into your food!

Brown paper.....however......tin foil is not tin! Its normally aluminium which can then be taken to local recycling center with aluminium cans.

Interesting! Don't know the answer - scientifically -
Better to use a re-usable plastic box. I use those ones you get from the Chinese takeaway!
Good for the freezer too.
In fact - good for lots of things, including sandwiches.
