First just to clarify a small point I don’t like the word ¨atheist¨ as it literally means ¨without god¨. I also don’t believe in goblins but I wouldn’t go around calling myself an ¨agoblinist¨.
I much prefer to describe myself as a ¨Realist¨ as I believe in reality. I just had look around for a definition and found this:
¨Realist - a person who accepts the world as it literally is and deals with it accordingly¨
Which seems to fit me pretty well, but what do you guys think?

I don't like Agnostic either as it means ¨without knowledge¨ and basically means you don’t have an opinion.
lisabug7777 -
Pridefully Ignorant would also be a good description of most Christians.
Bereftcat –
Are you saying all Christians are fool then, as they blatantly disregard logic?
Preacher –
Better to be self-righteous than to live in a fantasy world.

I am normally all of those things, but in order to confront religion you have to be bold or you will be swept away by the insanity of it all and loose your free will.
Canadacraig-
Yes that is exactly what I am implying as that is what I believe. Is it arrogant to say the earth goes round the sun? I except that I may be wrong but the odds are stacked in my favour. That wasn’t ‘reality’ that changed just peoples opinions.

Hello!! :o) For a person to refer to themselves as a 'realist' seems [and I say this respectfully] a bit arrogant. It implies that 85% [or more] of the world [who DOES believe in some form of 'creator'] is deluded and living their lives anchored onto some sort of self-created 'fantasy'. Besides - 'reality' changes all the time. I'm sure that if you asked someone - anyone - on September the 10th, 2001 if the Twin Towers in New York would still be 'there' on September the 12, 2001 - they would say, "OF COURSE - WHAT A RIDICULOUS THING TO ASK!!" [most likely] It should be noted that I believe in God and Jesus and think of myself as a Christian. But I am NOT 'religious'. In fact - I think that 'religion' has done far more harm than good. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

I call myself FREE to think logically and clearly .
I no longer have the burden to question everything around me .
I don`t need to know How the universe was made ,who made it ,and why .
I do need to find answers to other more important issues such as health ,and skills to provide for my family .
I live in the Here and Now .This is life --LIVE IT, don`t question it .
You`re wasting a lot of time on unresolved issues .

I call myself free. Or possibly a humanist, as I believe in humanity rather than a mythical deity.

It is human to question religious issues especially at younger ages. I suppose there is no one way or word to name someone who is not religious. Afterall those that believe are also human.
But maybe "Realist" down to earth etc.. are ways of expressing a persons attitude!?

How about Humanist?
The focus of the humanistic perspective is on the self, which translates into "YOU", and "your" perception of "your" experiences. This view argues that you are free to choose your own behaviour, rather than reacting to environmental stimuli and reinforcers. Issues dealing with self-esteem, self-fulfilment, and needs are paramount. The major focus is to facilitate personal development.
Or Secularist?
Interesting and rational

i prefer to not identify myself by my belief (knowledge) system. I' like the phrase, non-religious though. I'd rather describe myself as a liberal, punk rock, sexy etc. I only talk about atheism when confronted by religionists.

I agree that the word "atheist" was invented by those who believe in the existence of "God".
I consider myself to be Secular, Reasonable, or realist as you suggest.
