I am being serious when i ask "where did God come from" ? if God created heaven and earth then that sugests he/she is a physical being in order to "manufacture" heaven and earth so wher did he come from ?

If God explained it to you or any other human, you'd never understand. God is not human but a spirit. Our thoughts are not His thoughts, our ways are not His ways. There are somethings you, I science, or anything else, will NEVER be able to answer.

Science, because it sees no other explanation, teaches that the element are eternal. That they can not be created or destroyed. I never hear any of the God haters ask where the elements came from. You have no problem with the universe being infinite on and on without end, what exactly would nothing be anyway? I can imagine nothing...there would always be height, width, and breadth wouldn't there? If these thing as true why is it that a creative intelligence that always existed so hard to consider? Jim

Hello!! :o) I hope you're OK. First off - I have to say. [To some of those who have already responded to your question] I think it's highly inappropriate to shame someone - anyone - for asking QUESTIONS about GOD!! Never stop asking questions - that's what I say. God promises us that those who SEEK HIM will FIND HIM!!

That said...

I think it's a great question. Unfortunately - I don't have an answer. Sometimes I can't help but think [however] that there are many Gods and each one is responsible for their own 'world'. If that turns out to be true - it wouldn't change anything insofar as our responsibility goes - but I think an interesting thought - none-the-less. The concept of 'having no beginning' is baffling to us. For our 'reality' is nothing but 'beginnings AND endings'. That said - the Bible does seem to say that God IS without a 'beginning'. Do I - as a Christian - understand that?! NO!!

Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

God is, will be and always has been. It is beyond human understanding to know where God came from, but just thank God He is here. The Bible even says there are things we will not understand in this life. In I Corinthians 13 it says now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face. Faith is believing in what you can't prove. But look around, there is evidence of God everywhere. Could it be mere accident that humans rely on plant by-products (oxygen) to live and plants rely on human by-products (carbon dioxide) to live. Or the intricities of the human body, wheree each organ and system rely on the other organs and systems to function perfectly. Don't allow yourself to get so caught up in the wher and why of God's existence that you miss just knowing God.

This is simple, doesn't matter if really there is a being like god, he/she would not be a god if he/she had no followers, there's no god without followers, so, the humans created them own god. Don't forget that a long time ago there were a lot of gods!!

Most modern religions define God as ever-present and ever-existent , Basically they try to say that its out of humans thinking and logic to try and understand where or who God is.
Also the idea of God being divine is very new, most civilization pre 15th century believed God to be a human mortal who lived on clouds or in the mountains.

Don't be naive. God is a minds perception and invention. That's why it is a DOGMA or AXIOM by other words.
It is like the 1+1=2. You can't prove it.
The same is GOD.
You accept it, and after that you built all the philosophical pathway which you can call "Theology", "Religion", "System of exploitation of the masses", .....name it.
It is like a soap bubble. You don't accept it and ... "puff"... there is nothing there.
Many people have guilty consciousness and try, instead to pay a visit to the shrink (I have to admit they are expensive) prefer to join a "Church" (I have to admit that there are many of them, up to the point, I am thinking to open one for myself).
So this guilty consciousness gets "help" from "GOD".... (Oh my God....)
Anyway.....A God need to have his underage and a place to Live.
So, we created (in our minds) Heavens, Angels, Heralds etc, etc.
The rest..... ohhh well....use your mind.:)

I don't know if God exists or not, an agnostic. I think that if God exists, I don't think of the being as something totally comprehensible by humans. We have a limited body of knowledge. The fact is that we know we come to being when we are born, and that we all will die one day...that's all.

I think that's were a lot of Christians have faith that God exists. They don't have all the answers, but they see evidence of a God and believe in him. My problem is that I see the evidence, but I'm not totally convinced it's God's work.

this is a valid questions. Also so is asking where did ANYTHING come from. I think 'God', or Existence itself we find we come to the same problem. Asking where something comes from implies it must have come from somewhere else. What ever answer, answers the question "Where did energy come from" will yield the same answer religous people would use for 'God'.

Dearest Jehovah God, where did you come from? Was there someone who created you?

Isaiah 43:10b,11...Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. I-I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.

Psalms 104:1-35
Bless Jehovah, O my soul, O Jehovah my God you have proved very great.
With dignity and splendor you have clothed yourself.
Enwrapping yourself with light as with a garment.
Stretching out the heavens like a tent cloth.
The one building his upper chambers with beams in the very waters.
Making the clouds his chariot,
Walking upon the wings of the wind.
Making his angels spirits,
His ministers a devouring fire.
He has founded the earth upon its established places.
It will NOT be made to totter to time indefinite, even forever,
With a watery deep just like a garment you covered it.
The waters were standing ABOVE the very mountains,
At your rebuke they began to flee,
At the sound of your thunder they were sent running in panic--
Mountains proceeded to ascend,
Valley plains proceeded to descend-
To the place that you have found for them.
A boundary you set, beyond which they should not pass,
That they should not *again cover the earth.*

19) He has made the moon for its appointed times;
The sun itself knows well where it sets.
You cause darkness, that it may become night,
In it all the wild animals of the forest move forth.
They maned young lions are roaring for the prey
And for seeking their food from God himself,
The sun begins to shine-they withdraw
And they lie down in their own hiding places.
Man goes forth to his activity
And to his service until evening.
How many your works are O Jehovah
All of them in wisdom you have made,
The earth is full of your productions
As for this sea so great and wide,
There are moving things without number,
Living creatures small as well as great.
There the ships go,
As for Leviathan, him you have formed to play about in it.
All of them-for you they keep waiting,
To give them their food in its season.
What you give them they pick up,
You open your hand-they get satisfied with good things.
If you conceal your face, they get disturbed.
If you take away their spirit, they expire,
And back to their dust they go.
If you send forth your spirit, they are created.
And you make the face of the ground new.
The glory of Jehovah will prove to be to time indefinite.
Jehovah will rejoice in his works.

He is looking at the earth, and it trembles,
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

I will sing to Jehovah throughout my life;
I will make melody to my God as long as I am.
Let my musing about him be pleasurable.
I, for my part, shall rejoice in Jehovah.

The sinners will be finished off the earth.
And as for the wicked, they will be no longer.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.
Praise Jah, You people.
