If anything, Einstein *may* have believed in God in some type of abstract way as underpinning the universe but he did not believe in any kind of personal or revealed god such as Christianity.

Einstein has also said:

" It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it"

One of his more quoted lines included "God does not play at dice." so I guess he wasn't an atheist...

On the other hand, Bill Gates, Thomas Alva Edison and Carl Sagan were/are all either agnostic or atheist.

Couldn't be any farther from the truth . Einstein was always referring to God and finding inspiration in God as well ...He was sometimes known to incorporate God into his argument...so I must answer No, definitely not. and since he was a Jew of course he rejected a christian God.

Most scientists accept that there are powers that defy our knowledge. It is not to say that we might not be able to explain them someday but at present, we can't. Einstein was Jewish.

Yes he was, he made some comments about God that were ironic or left open to interpretation is all...taking these out of context to suggest he was a theist is bogus.

Einstein might have been wise enough to keep his true beliefs secret, or he may have not had very strong beliefs at all.
