Adults and teens, at risk for more severe symptoms, may benefit if the case is seen early in its course.

I didn't get chicken pox until I was 18, and it was BRUTAL. I had them everywhere.... including on my scalp, genitals, the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet. I was awful. It's much harder on adults and teens that get it, which is why some parents try to expose their children to it to try and make sure they get it when they are very young.

I have heard that it is harder on adults and teens. I had mine (thank God) when I was 9.
