Joseph, the son of Jacob (also known as Israel), was sold into slavery by his brothers because they were jealous of him. These traders in turn sold him to the Egyptians as a slave. However, this was God's preordained plan to save the Hebrew people during the famine that was about to strike the land.

While Joseph was in prison in Egypt, he correctly interpreted the Pharoah's dreams of the seven fat cows and the seven thin cows as seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Thus, Egypt knew to store grain for the famine that was to come. As a reward, Joseph became a high official in Egypt, and a good friend of the Pharoah.

Then, when the famine struck the land, Joseph's family (his brothers) came to Egypt for grain and Joseph recognized them. He forgave them, and Pharoah welcomed them to come and live in Egypt. They were blessed for many years because Joseph was well respected in Egypt. However, after about 400 years had passed, the Pharoahs of Egypt forgot about Joseph and began to fear the Hewbrews since they had multiplied. Therefore, they decided to enslave the Hewbrews.

Well you should know how the Hebrew came to Egypt first, as they didn't initially reach there as slaves. Jacob had 12 sons and his 2 last sons were said to be those who he prefered, they were named Joseph and Benjamin. The older sons were jealous of Joseph specially, one day as they were together they hit him teared his clothes and sold him to slave buyers who were going to Egypt. Reaching home they showed him his clothes and told him that some beast eat him.

In Egypt Joseph was sold to the pharaoh, he finally came the man in which the pharaoh put all his trust. Due to some flase accusations told on him he was sent to prison. After some years someone talk positively about him to the new pharaoh and he came the most respescted man after pharaoh. Jospeh help Egypt to resist 7 years of hunger and at the same all people living around was able to buy food with the Egyptians.

When Joseph saw his brothers who sold him buying food he done his best so that his father came there, finally all the Hebrews came in Egypt. So when time past, after Joseph death the Egyptians no ore treated the Hebrews well and this finally deteriorated until they became their slaves.

You should read Genesis chpt. 37 to 47.

in accordance to the Bible (Exodus), the Jews (Hebrews) have been in Egypt some one hundred forty years after Joseph became into made grand vizier to the Pharaoah. apparently Joseph became right into a commonly used historic parent, till one Pharaoah desperate that adequate became into adequate and enslaved the inhabitants of Jews residing in his native land. we don't comprehend which Pharaoh, it could have been Seti a million or Rameses the full, yet from the account in Genesis he appeared to be rather a slave driving force and assets developer. The ensleaement began countless a protracted time earlier Moses became into born, and the popular thought is that it became into Seti a million who first enslaved the Hebrews in approximately 1340 BC. (There are no dates interior the previous testomony, so it is all guesswork) The Hebrews have been slaves for approximately 40 years or thereabouts, and have been freed under the management of Moses to wander relating to the sinai peninsula (for yet another 40 years or so)

The Lord Almighty is not only the creator of many fascinating things in the material World but also he is the creator of high ethics. If you look at the slavery of the Jews to the Egyptians, you will have to see the circumstances of the enslavement of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob or Israel.

If Jacob had not been favoring one of his sons over the others, they would have not perhaps hated him as they did. Ironically Jacob himself was tricked by Laban into marrying the wrong sister (Leah), just as Jacob had tricked his own brother out of his birth right. Ultimately it all goes back to taking which makes you burdened with the load of carrying, whereas giving away lightens your load.

When the brothers of Joseph plotted to have him killed, but at Rubin's insistence wanted to have him enslaved, they had the future of their own children determined to be enslaved by the Eyptians. Only after four hundred years of hard labor, did the savior came to Israel to save them from the clutches of the Pharoah, who initially benefitted from Joseph, but later Pharoahs got concerned about the growing strength of the Hebrews and enslaved them.

It is an irony today that the Jewish people have again enslaved the Palestinians, forgetting their days of slavery. It is also very symbolic that the United States represents Egypt again in the Obelisk in Washington DC and the pyramid on the dollar sign, which is siding with Israel in doing wrong to the weak.

It is an unfolding high drama whose results can perhaps be accurately predicted if you study the laws of the Most HIgh Lord!!

There was a famine. (No crops, and people were starving).
So Jacob and his family moved to Egypt, where their brother
Joseph had found favor with the ruler of Egypt.
After a time, they grew in numbers, and the Egyptians got
worried they might try to take over, so they subjected them
to slavery.
