The number may be another factor, I can not remember. I would like to know the origination of the statement if possible.

Six degrees of separation is the phrase. I'm not sure of the origin, but my GUESS is that it's the move "Six Degrees of Separation" starring Will Smith - that's the first time I'd heard the phrase.

For some fun, play "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" (link below)

it is "Six Degrees of Seperation" and it is really true. I dont know of the origin of the phrase, it may have come from the movie. Sit down with your friends and figure out what famous celebrities you know or have met or have been in the same room with. It really works.

I believe, the number, you are looking for is six. It's from the "six steps of separation"-theory, that all people on Earth are connected through a maximum of six people.

The number is right, it's about knowing people from the seven continents. "Seven steps away from knowing everyone else on earth."

nope but I think it relates to, that you know someone who knows someone who knows someone etc. so eventually everyone you meet comes back as you know then as someone you know knows someone they know to someone they know, knows them. hope this isn't confusing.
