Ok, sounds gross but do not wash your hair every day. There are good shampoos such as selsun blue. However a good old fashion remedy is to rub olive oil onto your scalp and cover it for the night, shampoo the next morning. This may take several attempts but it should calm down.

There are a few things that can cause it. First you could try a shampoo like Head and shoulders massage it into your scalp. If that doesnt work you could be over drying your dermis. Then I would use a conditioner and let it set in for a few minutes before rinsing it out. I wouldnt sugest using lotion nor is it the best for craddle cap (baby oil is perffered treatment). The third cause would be a fungal infection which you would need a presciption to treat. Try the other two first if that doesnt work go see your doctor.

Lotion works like a charm. You use it for dry skin on your elbows, hands and other body parts right? Well your scalp is also skin too and drys out just like anywhere else. I am 28 and have used it on mine since I was in middle school. My daughter has curly hair and her hair drys out fast so I use it on hers to maintain the frizz. My son is now 5 months old and had cradle cap so I used it on him to get rid of that too. I use lotion as a leave in conditioner. Wash your hair and then rub lotion into your hands and then rub into your hair. It will make it silky. rub the lotion into your scalp and woola the dry scalp will be gone.
