Well, in the Judicial system here in the US, that could be the case. In Gods Judicial system, if they ask for forgiveness, they will get another chance.
We should forgive them, if they fail in their attempt at murder. If they succeed, then we will be faced with our own judgment and will not need to worry about the person who committed the murder.

I don't believe in the Death penalty, because I don't believe
it's punishment. When we take their life, we only turn them over to a loving, forgiving Creator. I would rather see someone
spend time in prison, with the aggravation. And let them think about it.

Coz attempting of death (I hope i said it right)...the criminal has the intend to kill...but he didnt for external reason not coz he decided not to do it.. anyways i'm lawyer in egypt but here the attempting of kill isnt deserve the death penalty....
