Read Joseph Campbell - The Hero with a Thousand Faces (I think). It explains the archetype of the hero in myth and story. An interesting question, I'd be able to answer better, but I don't know the bible or comic books well.

No.
They are created because we in our soul seek justice and truth.
We would like to see the bad people punish and the weak being save, and this doesn't happen in real life!
And we would like to see real justice and truth but we cant, so we invented this things.
The Bible is a different thing, it is four our soul and spirit. It help us not to be judge because there is the only and one judge...and that all actions will have there reactions in some way or another!

nope -- not even close!!!
i will say how ever that they are a form of modern myth making, but comics have never been about teaching anything they have been and always will be about entertaining and about the imaginative works of writers and artist's working together for that goal.
the bible and other religious books -- are about teaching you the means of living in a spiritual manner consistent with the will of the deities described in said books, and as a philosophical measure for living ,for those who don't believe!!!!

Most with the definite exception of Batman

The Superman stories highlight the idea that a single Saviour Figure (A Christ) could be a bad thing, as people would all rely on him, be stupid/reckless and lazy...

Therefore technically the Superman Series are Anti-Christ... (against a saviour, not god)

I think if you derive your moral compass from comic books you will spend your life living in a fictional reality.

What is a "godly saint" and why do you have "respect for" them?

Christians depend on the bible for their daily word. (spiritual food) We are to apply the word of God to our lives. You cannot compare the bible to a superhero or comic books.. big difference.. \

Christ Jesus is salvation, comic/superheros not.
