i say shave your head but keep the pony tail at the back, then you have the best of both worlds!!

When I cut off my ponytail (a long time ago now!), I was happy - for a while, ever since then I have regretted it - and now I'm going bald so I can't grow it back! You have to do what you feel you can live with, if you are happy with it, keep it, if you're not - shave it off!
One recommendation though, if you do decide to shave it off do it for charity.

tough one. i used to have a pony tail but then started going bald at the front so it looked stupid. Shaved it, regretted it but now have a nice short summer do

def shave your head. pony tails on men are a no-no. Unless you're orlando bloom or johnny depp, you probably look better with short hair.

Don't take this personally, but someone once said to me that if you look under a pony's tail, you find an asshole!
Shaven is a bit 'old' too, I think.

It would be good to see a photo to make a proper comment. If you have long hair, it is really libertaing to shave it off. I did the same a while ago, and I wouldn't go back to long hair.
It is more trendy, and far more versatile with fashion today to have cropped hair - it goes with everything!!
Scrape your hair really tight back and squint in the mirror - if you like it - go for it!!

Girls will go crazy over you if you have your hair long (about shoulder length) with a professional haircut in it-- you know, 'gorgeous' like soccer stars often have with definition. Plus you will feel awesome knowing that your hair isnt just "there" in a pony tail OR "gone" all shaved off.

Shave your head Ponytails are not very nice plus a new look is always good!
