i can't seem to keep them closed

If you let your eye muscles completely relax, they will stay closed on their own. If you strain to keep them shut, it's hard do do. Just relax.

That is the thing. you can not meditate till you close your eyes.
Meditation means blanking out your mind. Keeping it free of all the thoughts.
you can not do it by continue looking at things.Both are related.
If u are meditating successfully your eyes will close automatically.If u are unable to close your eyes you are unable to meditate as well.

well if you're meditating your mind should be clear of all thoughts-especially negative ones.
if you can't keep your eyes closed try to think of positive things first and then let them slowly float away till you are in a state of meditation.
if by then your eyes are still open i suggest you see a doctor..
...your eye muscle must be faulty;)

Try to imagine a burning diya or candle between your eyes on your forhead and keep watching its flame. It helped me, might do the same for you

its not hard keeping your eyes closed. the tough part is keeping your mind closed.

its best to meditate when your already sleepy. you have to be in a relaxed stat...for me its almost impossible without falling asleep because i have 4 children running around .
