to make the perfect cup of tea..firstly decide whether u like teabags or tea powder better...after uve decided upon tht u have to select amongst the different kinds of tea...after tht...take the correct amnt of water since excess water makes the tea taste kinda ugh...boil water,once u have boiled then put 1 spoon of tea depending upon ur taste for strong or light tea,once its boiled dont pour immediately otherwise it gets kinda congealed...pour after the water has simmered down...if ur into madras chai then 2 spoons of milk powder and 1 1/2 spoons of sugar will do the trick

Hi,

Last month I had been to Munnar and was there at the tea plantations and the processing factories - I actually went thru a guided tour of the process by one of the expert there - he says how to make a good cup of tea - seems we have to boil the water and then remove the water from the flame and then add tea leaves (or powder) depending U want it light or strong and then close the pot for 5 minutes - and then after 5 minutes U can usually add milk and sugar....

The reason he says that tea should not be direclty added to the boiling water on the flame - seems it looses its original taste and medicinal properties if we do so.

If you mean tea in the western sense, then here goes..
You need a good loose leaf tea, a china teapot, cup and saucer (it really does make a difference)
Boil ur water, once boiled, pour a cup full into the teapot adn swirl it around (heating the teapot is the basis of a good cuppa)
to heat the pot
then put in one teaspoon of tea for each person drinking and an extra one 'for the pot' into the teapot, add boiling water
let it sit for 3minutes
then stir gently
pour into ur cup, adding milk afterwards, and sugar if needed
tea should be strong but not stewed, have milk but not be milky and only as sweet as the individual requires

Quality of water is very important. Applies to coffee as well. I boil spring water and you wouldn't believe the improvement in taste.

I believe the rule is one cup of water and one teaspoon of tea for each person and one for the pot if you are using loose tea leaves. Verify with an English person, they probably know if this is right or no.

I garnish my tea with a slice of lemon and add a nice grade of honey, leaving the tea bag in the cup.

Early Grey is my favorite and Peppermint. English Breakfast is nice too.

Boil a cup of water,to boiling water add 1/2 tsp of tea leaves.Some people like their tea strong,then u boil for a minute or two else you shut off the stove immediately after the leaves start boiling.Add preheated milk to it,add required quantity of sugar in your cup.Strain the tea into your cup,stir the sugar and enjoy your tea!The qty. of tea leaves added to the boiling water also varies according to the type of tea leaves used.I personally dont like to boil my tea leaves ,so I add 1tsp of tea leaves to boiling water and immediately shut the stove off and let it brew with a closed lid for a minute,add required qty.of milk in my cup and strain the brewed tea into my cup.Some people like to add tea masala to their tea,or some like the ginger flavour(supposed to be good for your sore throat)If you want the ginger flavour,crush 1/2" ginger piece and add it to your boiling water.Let it boil for a minute before adding tea leaves to it,then procceed as said earlier.Again,some people like black tea.depending on the strength of the brew you add the tea leaves and can have with a dash of lemon juice if you want or add honey instead of sugar in your black tea.
