Funny to see all the prejudice displayed here, I really pity you we're supposed to live in year 2006 but some of you seem to have barely left the trees.

Good question. Other religions don't realize that being critical of Catholicism grieves the spirit of God. These people who are bias will have to give in account unto God.

you would think - with everything else we've had to overcome - people would have grown out of the Rcc hatred. i've never understood how or why others judge and hold the prejudice - especially fellow Christians.
people nowadays like to hold onto the negative and push and push until it forms a loathing boil on their psyche. look at the comments about the priests molesting children. yes this happened, yes it was sick and demented - NO it was NOT limited to the Rcc.
shallow, small people pick on what they fear most - the unknown, they run from what challenges their way of live - Rcc. besides it's easy to pick on the Rcc - they don't fight back.

You can't realistically believe that negative prejudice about catholics is significant compared to, say, prejudice about black americans, asian americans, hispanic americans, or middle eastern americans. These other types of people are not only judged prematurely, but people act on these judgements through descrimination far too often to tolerate.

Maybe you should stop crying. Noone hates catholics, we just like to make fun of everyone. And it's pretty funny that you have holy men that are starved of sex. Haven't you ever heard of original sin? You're begging for disaster; asking that much of humans nowadays.

Plus a lot of catholics are prejudicial towards homosexuals and those of other religions. While this is far from exclusive to catholicism, it does present itself as an easy target to ridicule as such.

Is there?
You did have a Catholic President . . mind you he was shot!
There ain't a lot of difference, in my mind between Episcopalianism and Catholicism and you had one more Episcopalian President than Presbyterian ones.
I'd have thought that the big problems were with skin colour and gender.

I think that if people had no one to pick on or hate then they might just be forsed to look in the mirror of non perfection and really see themselve for who they are.

Because it's not fashionable to hate Jews anymore, and everyone else is a smaller target, I'd suppose.

I know! I want to know too!
But, then maybe its because the wrong men are becoming priests. And then it makes the news and suddenly ALL Catholics are bad. :(
It stinks. Thats why I moved.
